Who is Shirley Taylor?

Hello, and thanks for visiting the new website of ST Training Solutions Pte Ltd. Allow me to take this opportunity to introduce myself.

Thanks to some great teachers on my full time and part-time college courses (I have to say that - one of them was my Mum!) I obtained many advanced secretarial qualifications including the LCCI Examinations Board Private Secretary's Diploma (Fourth Level) and a shorthand speed of 170 wpm (it was a long time ago!) For nine years I worked as Private Secretary at director level in a large multi-national company in Sheffield, England.

After obtaining teaching diplomas and the Certificate in Education, I was lucky enough to obtain a post as Training Consultant in Singapore where I taught many conscientious and ambitious students. This was the start of my love for all things Eastern. Ever since then I've been like the proverbial bad penny - I can't keep away!

I lived in the Middle East for a couple of years when I was Head of Secretarial Department at a college in Bahrain, Arabian Gulf. As well as the East, I've also been West, to Toronto, Canada, where I was PA to the President of an animation company for a while.

Since 1991 I have been lucky enough to move into writing - something that came looking for me, not the other way around! Despite that, I am happy to say that I keep being asked to write more, so I must be doing something right - and I actually rather enjoy it! In April 2002 I set up my business in Singapore, and since then I have been enjoying conducting my training workshops in many different countries - and making lots of new friends too!

In 2006 I set up my own company, ST Training Solutions Pte Ltd. My first venture under ST Training Solutions was ASSAP 2007 - the Asian Summit for Secretaries and Admin Professionals. This was held in Singapore in April 2007, and I'm delighted to say we had an overwhelming response, with 250 participants attending the one-day conference and 50 people in each of the 2 separate one-day workshops. ASSAP has continued as an annual event in April each year, and is continuing its great popularity. Since setting up ST Training Solutions, I'm enjoying working with a lot of great international trainers and speakers. All our workshops are full of valuable tools, helpful guidelines and powerful action steps. The learning process is interactive, fun and rewarding. Our range of workshops is growing all the time, and we welcome back clients time and again to our workshops, which says a lot.
